a celebration of life

project /

the project objective was to design a postcard invitation, and ceremony programs to a celebration of life. later, i added on a videography project to document the event.

client /

the client for this project is my extended family, as it is the invitations for an event being held to honor my late grandfather, frank rog. from humble beginnings in poor northeast minneapolis (for which he wrote a book), to the man who made roseville, minnesota the city of parks (for which he was elected mayor), he is well loved and many gathered to celebrate his life and accomplishments.

design /

the design was driven by a desire to create a branded event that would allow separate pieces of creative work to come together in a way that is recognizable to the audience. the primary goal for this project was to both personalize the event and make it easy for everyone to enjoy and communicate with.

the visuals you see in both the postcards was shot by myself, as well as the art direction for the video. all work was done locally, which was important to as my grandfather was tremendously instrumental in the growth of parks in both roseville and saint paul.

the invites and programs were both entirely completed on my own, from logo design to photography.

the art direction of the video was my own, as well as some individual shots and editing. most videography, however, was shot by chris lacourciere.
